Christmas Trees on the GO !!

My son Chris likes to drive around town with a Christmas tree in the back of the pickup around Christmas time. The first picture is this year, its a bit dark. The second is last year. He has a great time and gets some interesting reactions.

Snow in Dallas

We don't get a lot of snow in Dallas (Or.) and what we do get is usually gone in a day or so. This year we have had an unusual amount of snow. Its been snowing and accumulating on and of since the 12th of December. I have close to a foot in my driveway and its been slick around town. Just for fun here are some pictures around town and into Salem (Or.).

This is my house in Dallas and Hayter Street looking south from my house.

Origami

From Craft

I also like to fold paper. So sometimes I just pull out my Origami books and paper and start folding. This is something I made for a Christmas decoration this year.

I decided to try my hand at some paper dolls. This one is about 4.5 inches tall.

Clocks

I thought it would be fun to make some clocks out of hard drives. Here are the first two I have done.

Photos

I have been taking a lot of pictures recently. It is something I have always enjoyed.

Technology Golf

Several of us got together for a little Golf after work on Friday (8 Aug 2008). We had a great time and I took a lot of pictures. 9 of us went and 8 of us played. Andy, Francisco, Jason, and Mike were on one team. Kristen, Rick, Sam,and Steven were on the other. I took pictures. Steven's team won.

Technology BBQ

The technology department that I work for had its annual summer BBQ. We get together for several hours and do some staff development and play games, oh, and eat! This year we had house shoes and a water balloon toss.

We had a great time, and the staff development included teams taking photo's. The photo's had to show the work from a different perspective that could be used to illiterate our work. We came up with a lot of really unique pictures.

Remote Holder

I needed a remote holder to collect my remotes. I liked the design of the craft bag I made so I modified it and made it smaller. It uses the same knots as the larger bag. I used Natural hemp #1972 cord, 16 3 yard cords for the body and 8 3 yard cords for the strap. If you wanted a strap for carrying I would use 6-7 yard cords. The holding cord is about a foot.
Here is a picture of the body of the bag in progress. When complete I will fold it in half to make the bag body.

Macrame' Bag

I recently made a new craft bag for myself. It's big and blue. It incorporates over 237 yards of craft cord. It uses a Lark's head, Square, Double half hitch, and Half hitch. I think I spent about 8 hours on it.

The cords were so long that I improvised a rack to hang it on while I worked on it. I used a cross stitch stand. I clamped a yardstick in the stand clamp. I used two large metal paper clamps to hold each edge of my holding cord, I stiffed the middle in the clamp with the yardstick. It worked really well.

Macrame' & Raggz

Raggz likes to keep me company while I work. Sometimes he can be a little persistant about attention if he thinks I have been working to long and not petting him enough. :) Here is is with my current project in progress.

I have started working on our church groups website: Mosaic. It has been fun so far, I'm going to need some ideas for it, though. :)
